Please come and join us

Leigh-on-Sea HF Rambling Group's members meet most Saturdays throughout the year. These walks start at 1.00pm and last for about 2 hours, covering 3 - 4 miles.

We started in 1952 so 2012 was our 60th anniversary.

The first committee meeting was held at the home of a Miss Brown in Sandleigh Road, Leigh-on-Sea and the first General Meeting was held at the Community Centre, Elm Road. Our Group is just one of over 270 Clubs affiliated with HF Holidays Ltd.

We walk at a leisurely pace, talk a lot and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Have you ever thought that you need more exercise? Well, walking with us is a fairly painless pursuit as we're not into route marches or hill walking.

Our walks are varied and interesting and take in Southend seafront and the Pier, Hadleigh Country Park, woods, parks, rivers, historical sights and RHS Garden Hyde Hall.

We're always looking for new walks and walks leaders, so new members are more than welcome.

We have a wonderful and varying landscape in south-east Essex with many miles of coastline so come and join us for a leisurely ramble, see if you like it which we’re sure you will, and then let’s talk to you about joining us.

Apart from our regular walks and before Covid 19 we had many social events. We are almost back to normal.

Annual membership of the group is just £3.00 per year, which entitles you to come on any walk, join in the holidays and coach day trips and come to the social events.
You also receive 2 printed programmes per year.

The walking holidays experts since 1913, we bring over 100 years’ experience to organising your holiday! And, as we are owned by our members, all our profits are invested back into our holidays for you to enjoy.
